RCMP in Hay River, N.W.T., have charged three people with possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking, following a drug bust earlier this week.
This is the third drug bust in the community of about 3,500 people this month.
RCMP say they received a complaint on Monday night about an "act of violence" happening. They would not elaborate on what that act was, but they say threats were uttered.
When officers arrived at the scene, their investigation led them to a hotel room in Hay River, where they found three ounces of cocaine.
RCMP Cpl. Barry Ledoux said that is a large amount for the small town.
A 20-year-old man and a 30-year-old man from Edmonton, as well as a 21-year-old man from Hay River, face charges in connection with the incident. One remains in custody while the other two have been released.
All three are set to appear in court in Hay River on May 1.
