Canada’s human rights record is not where it should be when it comes to violence against aboriginal women and girls, according to one group.

Human Rights Watch is an international non-governmental organization. It recently made a submission to the United Nations Human Rights Council, highlighting areas where the country needs to do more.

CBC North’s Leila Beaudoin spoke with women in Yellowknife who say the reality of the country’s inadequacy is all too familiar.
