Yukon has been listed by Lonely Planet as one of the top ten regions in the world to visit in 2013.
The popular travel guide listed the territory fourth - behind the island of Corsica, the Negev in Israel and Palestine, and a region in Nepal.

It mentions that the territory remains one of the least populated regions on the planet, with 14.2 square kilometres of land per resident.
Lonely Planet says the Yukon is one of the few places in the world that remains virtually unchanged by time, but it adds change is coming fast to the territory because of climate change and a renewed interest in mining.
