Teenager struck and injured near elders' centre

RCMP in Arviat, Nunavut, are investigating a hit and run in the community where a teenager was struck and injured.
Police say a 15-year-old girl was walking alone near the elders’ centre on Thursday, Sept. 13 at about 10 p.m. when she was struck by a vehicle driving towards her. The girl’s leg was broken by the impact.
The vehicle did not stop. The victim describes it as a dark-coloured Jeep-style vehicle.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the Arviat RCMP detachment.
