In Inuvik, N.W.T., one home owner said he doesn't trust the new propane-air heating system.
Matt Millett’s water heater caught fire earlier this month, and he thinks the company is responsible.
Millett spoke to representatives from Inuvik Gas at a meeting Tuesday night.
He said the fire happened during a test of the propane-air system.
“I had a fire, pretty much as a result of your propane. Luckily nothing too drastic happened. Nobody's really given me any reassurances that this isn't going to happen again, or taken responsibility for what happened. Can you give us assurances tonight that there will be no more fires?” he asked.
The boiler fire did not damage the house, and the boiler is now being tested by the territorial gas inspector.
Inuvik Gas said they are waiting for the results from the inspector before deciding whether to compensated Millet.
Meanwhile, the company has pledged to let residents of Inuvik know when the propane system will be tested again.
