The Whitehorse RCMP are asking for the public’s help in finding a suspect in a severe beating.

On Friday, police were called to the Kwanlin Dun village in the McIntyre subdivision just before midnight. They found a 48-year-old man from the Liard First Nation unconscious with serious injuries.

The man was later medevaced to a hospital in Vancouver with serious injuries. He is reported to be in serious but stable condition.

The RCMP is saying little about the incident. Police were going door-to-door Saturday checking homes on Hannah Crescent after reports of the beating. One man is in custody in relation to the incident.

Sgt. Don Rogers said so far, no one has been charged, but the assault is under investigation.

Rogers is asking anyone with information to come forward to RCMP.
