RCMP in Yellowknife have released a drawing of a man suspected of assaulting a teenage girl last week.
Police say a man resembling this image sexually assaulted a teenage girl in an alley between the Discovery Inn and the Legion building. (RCMP)The image shows a man with long brown hair and a distinct half-moon shaped scar over his left eyebrow.
Police made the image public on Monday.
"We have solicited the assistance of a composite artist from the RCMP in Edmonton. He was able to come up to Yellowknife today and he was able to sit down with the victim and come up with a sketch with a likeness of the suspect," said Staff Sgt. Brad Kaeding.
The assault took place in the early hours of Sept. 20 on a downtown street.
Police said a man forced a 15-year-old girl into a dark alley between the Discovery Inn and the Legion building and sexually assaulted her.
The teen contacted the RCMP after she was let go. Police said she received medical treatment but was not seriously physically injured.
Anyone who recognizes the individual or has information related to the incident is asked to contact Yellowknife RCMP detachment. They can also call N.W.T./Nunavut Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 if they wish to remain anonymous.
