High winds have caused some power outages in Pangnirtung, Nunavut.
The outages have shut down businesses and government offices for the day.
Officials there say Attagoyuk School is open for those who need shelter – it has an emergency generator for heat and power.
So far, about eight people have gone to the school.
Environment Canada is forecasting winds gusting up to 100 kilometres per hour for the rest of the afternoon. There is also a strong wind warning for Coral Harbour.
