Nunavut RCMP searched a luxury yacht in the course of a Liquor Act investigation and seized 200 bottles of liquor with an estimated Cambridge Bay street value of $40,000. (RCMP)
RCMP have charged the Australian owner of a luxury yacht that was moored outside Cambridge Bay with violations of Nunavut’s Liquor Act.
Paul McDonald, 51, of Noosville, Australia, has been charged with providing liquor to a minor and being in possession of liquor without authorization.
The Australian owner of the yacht also forfeited about $15,000 of illegal fireworks to the Cambridge Bay RCMP. (RCMP)In early September, RCMP searched the yacht named Fortress in the course of a Liquor Act investigation and seized 200 bottles of liquor with an estimated Cambridge Bay street value of $40,000.

McDonald is scheduled to appear before a Justice of the Peace on Nov. 15.
