The body of David Tattuinee, 43, of Rankin Inlet was found Thursday in a lake outside the community. He was reported missing after he failed to return from tending fishing nets. (Facebook)The body of a Rankin Inlet man who was reported missing after he failed to return from tending fishing nets was found Thursday in a river outside the community.
David Tattuinee, 43, was reported overdue to the RCMP on Wednesday and the local search and rescue team began a search.
The body was located by divers in Qajakuvik Lake about 20 kilometres outside of Rankin Inlet.
RCMP, in consultation with the Chief Coroner of Nunavut, say Tattuinee likely died as a result of hypothermia and accidental drowning.
