50-year-old woman sent to hospital in Yellowknife

Police in Fort McPherson are investigating an assault in the community Tuesday night.
A resident came to the detachment and told police an assault had occurred in a home. When officers arrived at the home, they found a 50-year-old woman who had been severely beaten.
She was taken to the nursing station and later medevaced to Stanton Territorial Hospital in Yellowknife.
Police have not released the woman's name.
They say anyone with information should contact the Fort McPherson RCMP detachment or call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 if they wish to remain anonymous.
