The military will be landing a Twin Otter plane once a day as part of Operation Nanook.

About one kilometre of the road will be closed daily between 10 and 10:30 a.m.

Canadian Forces say the training is necessary for its pilots to learn how to land on gravel roads in areas that do not have airports or landing strips.

Operation Nanook began Aug. 1 and will continue until Aug. 26 at two locations — in the Beaufort Delta region of the N.W.T. and in Hudson Strait and Hudson Bay, including near Churchill, Man.
