Election charges stayed against 2 N.W.T. candidates
Kam Lake and Nunakput candidates pay $250 fines

Two candidates who were charged with violating the Elections and Plebiscites Act after the N.W.T.'s October election are off the hook.
Kam Lake candidate Bryan Sutherland was charged under the N.W.T.'s Elections and Plebiscites Act for not paying a fine for late filing of his candidate financial report from the 2011 territorial election. His charge was stayed after he paid the $250 fine and signed a compliance agreement. Nunakput candidate Eddie Dillon and his official agent Terri Kuptana were charged with failing to make declarations, pay a fine, and file a candidate financial report within the timeframes set out in the act.
Both have now paid their $250 fines and have signed compliance agreements acknowledging their responsibility for violating the act and promising to follow the regulations in the future.
Dillon and his official agent have also now completed and passed in his financial report.
The court charges have been stayed.
