Iqaluit RCMP have recovered human remains from the site of a fire that destroyed a 22-unit townhouse complex on Sunday.

In a release, police do not say how many individuals were discovered in the burned building. Officials have said previously that two people died in the fire.

All but one of the destroyed units were being leased by Nunavut Arctic College.

Police say the investigation will continue for several days to confirm whether there were any more deaths.
