The principal of the elementary school in Watson Lake, Yukon, has been ordered to stay away from a staff member there.
On Oct. 19, Kaska language teacher Aggie Magun sought a no-contact order for Denis Ryan, who is the principal at Johnson Elementary School.
Magun stated she feared that Ryan's 'overly aggressive manner' would cause her personal injury.
A justice of the peace in Watson Lake ordered that Ryan not speak to Magun or have any direct or indirect contact.
Karen Statham, the executive director of the Help and Hope women's shelter in Watson Lake, said people in the community are aware of the no contact order.
"It's not a good situation for the students at the school, the parents. You know, there's a lot of people that are very unhappy," she said.
Statham says Magun hasn't been able to go to her teaching job at the school since the order was put in place.
The Yukon Teachers' Association says it is not able to represent either the teacher or the principal while the matter is before the courts. Ryan is set to appear before a judge in Watson Lake on Wednesday for a peace bond hearing.
