A family member has confirmed the man found dead near the Fort Smith arena Tuesday was 52-year-old Raymond Beaulieu.
He was better known to family and friends as 'Chicken Man'.
The RCMP are investigating the death with the assistance of the G Division Major Crimes Unit from Yellowknife.
Last October, Raymond Beaulieu and Lawrence Bruno said Peter Martselos, a candidate for the territorial elections, paid the two men $20 for their votes. That allegation was later dismissed by Elections NWT for insufficient evidence.
