Fields stores to close in Hay River, Fort Smith
The Hudson's Bay Company is closing all its Fields locations in Canada

The Hudson’s Bay Company has announced all of its Fields stores in Canada will close, including two locations in the N.W.T.
The discount department store has 167 Canadian locations, including Fort Smith, N.W.T., and Hay River, N.W.T.
Marlene Evans of Fort Smith says she's shocked by the news.
“I feel terrible about it,” she said. “I love Fields. Not only me but everybody else in town, we all shop at Fields. There are so many little things we buy there that cost so much more everywhere else.”
Evans says people come from as far away as Fort Chipewyan, Alta., to shop at the store in Fort Smith.
All Fields stores in Canada will be shut down by the fall of 2012.
