Court documents allege Hugues Latour, a former Inuvik, N.W.T., teacher who faces child pornography charges, fathered a child with a teenager.
The documents allege the teenager was his student at the time.
Latour, 38, will face charges of assault, forcible entry and breach of recognizance in Inuvik Territorial Court. He will be tried March 6 by a judge alone.
Latour had requested to be tried in French but the case will go ahead in English, and Latour will have an interpreter.
He also faces seven charges in Northwest Territories Supreme Court. Those include possession of child pornography, sexual assault and touching a minor for a sexual purpose.
A trial date has not yet been set for the Supreme Court charges.
Latour is in police custody at the North Slave Correctional Centre.
