Search efforts continue this week near Puvirnituq, Que., for an 18-year-old who has been missing since mid-December.
Jimmy Alashoak left the northern Quebec Inuit village on Dec. 14 to join his father at a hunting camp about 80 kilometres away.
However, a blizzard hit and Alashoak did not arrive at the camp as expected.
Ground and air searches have been underway since, continuing through the holidays and even interrupting local Christmas celebrations.
Puvirnituq Mayor Aisara Kenuayuaq told CBC News that the search will continue, although it has slowed down somewhat.
Search authorities have said Alashoak was travelling with plenty of equipment and is also a Junior Ranger, meaning he is trained in survival skills.
With a population of about 1,450, Puvirnituq is located along the eastern shore of Hudson Bay, 1,630 kilometres northwest of Montreal.
