RCMP in Iqaluit say they found no sign of a bomb during a sweep of a local hotel after it and other nearby buildings were evacuated.

The Nova Inn, as well as the Nunavut legislative assembly building across the street and other nearby buildings, were evacuated shortly after 2:30 p.m. ET over a report of a bomb threat.

Part of Federal Road, where the hotel and legislature are located, were blocked off while police inspected the hotel.

They said they did not find anything suspicious inside.

RCMP are still investigating.
