Whitehorse RCMP are asking Yukoners to be on the lookout for a Whitehorse resident whose family reported him missing this week.

Dave Layzell was last seen on Aug. 20, driving his green GMC extended-cab pickup truck.

He was leaving Whitehorse and was believed to be heading toward the Clear Creek area between Stewart Crossing and Dawson City.

Family members reported him missing when they had not heard from him by Monday, police said late Tuesday.

Layzell is described as a big man, weighing about 240 pounds and standing nearly six feet tall, with white hair and a white beard.

He may have been travelling with the family's dog, a golden lab named Brandy.

The RCMP are asking people to contact them with any information about Layzell or if they have seen him or his truck.
