Ice Wireless is launching its new mobile phone service in Iqaluit on Saturday, the city's first 3G service.

The iPhone 5, Nokia Lumia and Samsung Galaxy are the types of cell phones that will be available in Nunavut's capital
through the Ice Wireless 3G network.

Iqaluit residents can get data plans for $65, or a talk and text plan starting at $30 a month.

"Iqaluit is not the end, it's just the beginning for us in Nunavut," said Samer Bishay, president and CEO of Ice Wireless. "We are definitely planning on expanding our coverage in a lot of the remote communities."

The company is holding a launch party in the city with games and prizes Saturday starting at 11 a.m.
