The search for a missing girl in Tulita, N.W.T. is growing, with people from across the region boating in to help.

Nicole Horassi, 17, was last seen in the community on June 24.

Tulita RCMP are getting a hand from people from every Sahtu community, as well as Fort Simpson.

The search has focused on areas around the Mackenzie and Bear Rivers.

A helicopter has also been brought in to help.

Imperial Oil, Enbridge and Esso have also donated boats, employees, and money to feed the volunteer searchers.

A Facebook page set up to help coordinate the search now has close to three-thousand members.

People as far south as Hay River and Edmonton are fundraising to help cover the costs of search efforts.

Police describe Horassi as a slender, young, aboriginal woman with long brown hair and brown eyes.

She was wearing jeans, a white tank top and grey-coloured ankle boots when she went missing.

Anyone with information on Horassi’s whereabouts are asked to call Tulita RCMP.
