Two Fort Smith, N.W.T., men are facing charges after three businesses were broken into and the windows on a police truck were smashed on Feb. 14.

The RCMP truck was parked at the Fort Smith Hospital in the early morning when an officer returned to the vehicle to find three of its windows broken.

A short time later RCMP were told three local businesses had been broken into and another vehicle had been damaged. Police identified and located two suspects, who fled by snowmobile but were later arrested.

Dillan Cardinal, 18, has been charged with two counts of mischief, three counts of break and enter, two counts of theft, possession of a weapon while committing an offence, flight from police, and breach of probation.

Stuart Beaulieu, 23, has been charged with two counts of mischief, two counts of break and enter, two counts of theft, and possession of a weapon while committing an offence.

Both men are scheduled to appear in court in Fort Smith on Monday.
