Robert Janes, the new mayor of Rankin Inlet, Nunavut, was sworn in Monday.
Janes' term will be for three years. He said council will continue work on projects already started.
"Certainly we have a good blend of skills and abilities and I'm really looking forward to the upcoming couple of years."
He said he would like to see the swimming pool back up and running and wants to work to improve programs and services for elders and youth.
Ron Roach, Sam Tutanuak, Hamish Tatty and Gabriel Karlik were also sworn in as new councillors.
The first regular hamlet council meeting will take place next Monday.
