A Hay River, N.W.T., man charged in the death of his mother has undergone a psychiatric assessment.
Richard Deleeuw, 25, is charged with second degree murder in the death of his mother, Linda Lafferty, in September.
In court today, the judge said he has received the doctor's final report and there is a clear conclusion, but he didn't say what it was.
He said it would take some time for him and the lawyers to digest the report.
The Crown confirmed the assessment is meant to determine Deleeuw's fitness to stand trial and if he were "not criminally responsible" at the time of the alleged offence.
Deleeuw is still in an Edmonton hospital, and is due back in court on Dec. 11.
