"It takes place to praise God and to say thank you to God for the tremendous gift that animals are and the blessing that they are every day to us," said Rev. Bev Brazier, the minister at Whitehorse United.

The morning's prayers and hymns will be focused on giving thanks for animals. Pets are encouraged to sing — or bark, chirp and meow — along.

The service begins at 10:30 a.m. PT.
