N.W.T. RCMP have issued a warrant for the arrest of a man they say is linked to a large amount of cash found at the scene of a fatal highway accident.

Mohamed Mohamud Mohamed is charged with possession of the proceeds of crime over $5,000.

Police say the charge is in relation to cash they seized from a safe at the scene of a fatal truck crash that happened near Fort Providence in October. They say there was a lengthy investigation involving specialized forensic analysis.

Police believe the cash was from the sale of drugs in Yellowknife.

They say Mohamed lived in Yellowknife for a time in 2015 but they don't know where he is now. He also has outstanding warrants in Ontario and Quebec.

Police ask anyone who may know where he is to contact their local RCMP Detachment or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
