Nunavut RCMP officer pleads not guilty to sex assault
Incident alleged to have happened 2 years ago in Baker Lake
An RCMP officer in Nunavut has entered a not guilty plea on an sexual assault charge.
Const. Justin Dickens, 31, was arrested in Whale Cove in April for an incident which was alleged to have happened two years ago. The allegations involve an assault on a female, which may have happened in Baker Lake.
Dickens was an officer there at that time. He is currently suspended with pay.
Dickens has been with the RCMP for four years total in Nunavut.
In April, the head of the Nunavut RCMP confirmed Dickens was on duty at the time of the alleged assault.
A trial has been set for Dec. 4 in Baker Lake.
