The Nunavut government wants more people to try and come up with a birthday song in the Inuit language.
The Department of Culture, Language, Elders and Youth is running the contest, and the grand prize is $3,500 and an iPad.
Tocasie Burke, the department’s Inuktitut Affairs manager, said not too many people have entered and the deadline is Monday.
"There aren't too many rules in this contest and as long as you live in Nunavut. And, I was asked for those living outside Nunavut, but, sorry, you have to live and reside in the territory," she said.
Burke wants original songs and entrants can submit recorded songs or written lyrics.
The winners will be announced on Nunavut Day in July.
