There are no changes in the Makivik Corporation executive after yesterday's election.
Inuit in Nunavik went to the polls to select a vice-president of economic development and a corporate secretary.
Michael Gordon was re-elected to the vice-president position. He received 1,431 votes, while challenger Adamie Alaku received 1,167.
Andy Moorehouse was re-elected as secretary-treasurer, getting 1,060 votes. Sara Airo received 993 votes and Maggie Putulik got 536.
Overall voter turnout in the election was about 37 per cent. Just over 2,600 people cast ballots.
Voter turnout was highest in Chisasibi and Tasiujaq at 75 per cent, and lowest in Puvirnituq and Montreal, at 17 and 16 per cent, respectively.
