The chairperson of the Nunavut Impact Review Board wants to be an MLA.
Elizabeth Copland will take a leave of absence from the NIRB, to run in next month's territorial election.
The NIRB says if Copland wins the election, she'll resign as chairperson. Otherwise, she'll return to the job right after the election.
The NIRB's vice-chair Phillip Kadlun will take over in the meantime. Starting Friday, he'll be the acting chairperson until election day, October 28th. Elizabeth Copland has not said what riding she'll run in.
