A Tsiigehtchic, N.W.T., school was evacuated Monday after police say a parent threatened to come into the school and harm people.

Fort McPherson RCMP responded around 2 p.m. to the incident at Chief Paul Niditchi School in Tsiigehtchic. 

RCMP say a parent called the school and made the threat. The school was then locked down. 

Students were taken to the nearby Adult Education Centre. Police say all staff and students were accounted for and unharmed. 

A 43-year-old woman was arrested by Fort McPherson RCMP shortly after the incident. The RCMP continue to investigate.
