More volunteers join search for Rankin Inlet hunter
More people and planes are joining the search for a missing 24-year-old hunter from Rankin Inlet who didn't return home as planned last Friday.
Paul Kanayok with Rankin Inlet Search and Rescue says there are now 17 searchers on the land. The military is using a Hercules C-130 for an aerial search and now a small plane is coming in from Baker Lake to help.
Kanayok says volunteers from Chesterfield Inlet are also joining the search.
"We keep finding tracks but we haven't located any person or things up to now," he said in Inuktitut.
Kanayok says they are grateful for all the monetary and food donations they are getting from Rankin Inlet, and other communities.
