Whitehorse RCMP say there were only minor injuries after a head-on collision on the Alaska Highway Monday evening.

Const. Dean Hoogland says the crash happened on the Alaska Highway between Kopper King and the Fish Lake Road turnoff. Police were called around 5:15 p.m.

Hoogland says one car crossed the median and slammed into an oncoming car. Both vehicles were badly damaged.

Hoogland says both drivers were taken to the hospital. One had a wrist injury, the other only needed to be checked over.
