A Mayo, Yukon, man is home and healthy after spending four days and nights lost in the bush.
Vernon Ball went for a walk on Monday, but lost his way in an unfamiliar area.
The 44-year-old eventually found his way back towards the village late Friday night.
"He walked out of the bush of his own power and we quickly informed his family that he was en route to the health centre just for a precautionary examination and treatment for dehydration," said Mayo RCMP Cpl. Chris Hutchings. "And everyone is just pleased that he made it back safely."
Hutchings says the community pulled together in the effort to find Ball.
The search team included volunteers, along with trained search crews and a police dog, on the ground, as well as searchers in the air and several boats on the river.
