Kyle Netser found after 3 days on the land

Kyle Netser was found alive and well last night, in a cabin about 80 kilometres outside of Baker Lake.

Kyle Netser had been missing since Monday, but the hunter from Baker Lake was found alive and well last night about 80 kilometres outside of the community.

"He was in a cabin belonging to the HTO in the area called South Lake," says Richard Aksawknee, in Inuktitut. Aksawnee is the chair of Baker Lake's local search and rescue committee.

Aksawnee says Netser's snowmobile had run out of fuel, and he walked to the HTO cabin.

He was a bit cold and hungry when searchers found him, but otherwise okay. Temperatures in the area were hovering around -30 C, or -40 C with the windchill.

Aksawknee says residents pulled together to find Netser, and he thanks everyone involved in the search.
