Young people in the Kivalliq region of Nunavut got busy making murals last month.

The Nunavut Arts and Crafts Association held three workshops in Rankin Inlet, Arviat and Baker Lake. In each case, 15 to 20 young people got together to design and build a mural from scratch.

The new art is now posted in the Arviat Community Hall, the youth drop-in centre in Rankin Inlet and the youth centre in Baker Lake.

Nunavut’s department of economic development and transportation provided the funding.
