Judge orders new Pelly Crossing school council election
A Yukon Supreme Court judge has annulled the school council election in Pelly Crossing and ordered a new election.
The order stems from irregularities in the hotly contested, Eliza Van Bibber school council vote earlier this month.
Two proxy votes were mistakenly accepted in that election. There was just a two-vote margin between the sixth and seventh place candidates in the race.
Election officials say they are now waiting for the Education Minister to direct them on when a new vote should be held.
