Joanne Deneron appointed chair of Mackenzie Valley board
Takes over from Richard Edjericon
Joanne Deneron of Fort Liard, N.W.T., has been appointed chair of the Mackenzie Valley Environmental Impact Review Board by the federal minister of Aboriginal Affairs and Northern Development.
The board conducts environmental assessments of mining and oil and gas projects throughout the territory, with the exception of the Inuvialuit Settlement Region.
Deneron takes over from Richard Edjericon, who served two terms as chair. His second term expired March 31.
Deneron is deputy mayor of Fort Liard, and a director of band-owned ADK Holdings as well as the N.W.T. Business Development and Investment Corporation.
