Iqaluit RCMP investigating after hit and run injures 7-year-old boy

RCMP in Iqaluit are searching for the driver of an all-terrain vehicle that hit a 7-year-old boy in the city's Legoland neighbourhood Sunday morning.

RCMP in Iqaluit are searching for the driver of an all-terrain vehicle that hit a 7-year-old boy in the city's Legoland neighbourhood Sunday morning.

Cpl. David Lawson said police are now looking for the driver of a green ATV who remains at large. He would not say if police suspect alcohol was a factor in the incident. He said the ATV also crashed into a nearby parked vehicle.

Lawson said the boy was taken to Qikiqtani General Hospital with "non-life-threatening" injuries. 

Police are urging anyone with information call the Iqaluit RCMP detachment.
