Iqaluit RCMP are investigating an armed robbery which happened at the DJ Specialties store Wednesday.

Police say the robbery took place at about 9 a.m. ET and the male suspect fled the store on foot.

They say he had a rifle at the time of the robbery, but the weapon has since been seized.

However, RCMP say the thief is still at large. They're asking anyone with information to phone Crimestoppers.

DJ Specialties store manager Mona Godin said the robber made off with about $40 in cash.

No injuries were reported.
