A small plane ran into some problems with its landing gear at the Iqaluit airport on the weekend.
The Piper PA-30 Twin Commanche had been travelling from California to Norway and made stops on the way in the U.S., Ontario, and in Kuujjuaq, Que.
The plane landed at the Iqaluit airport late Saturday afternoon. Shortly after it arrived on the ground, its landing gear collapsed. The plane was left stranded on its belly on the landing strip.
The incident forced the airport to close 4,000 feet of the city's only runway for about four hours until the plane was jacked up and removed.
The incident did not affect any flights.
