The food bank in Inuvik, N.W.T., will once again open its doors to the public.
The building was trashed by vandals in September. Now, it has a new metal door to prevent break-ins. It also has more food on the shelves.
Ashley Lennie, a community volunteer, said last Sunday, she went door-to-door collecting donations to restock the food bank.
"I hope that people will continue to contribute to the food bank, because it is really needed. I discovered that during the food drive, because I did have people phoning me, asking me if the food bank was open," said Lennie.
The food bank closed in early September after vandals broken in and destroyed most of the food along with some furniture.
Police say they have charged three young people with breaking and entering, in connection with the vandalism.
The accused cannot be named, but police say it is two 12-year-old girls and one 13-year-old boy.
