Peter Krizan of Inuvik, N.W.T., was sentenced last week to five months in jail for charges including assaulting a peace officer and resisting arrest.
Krizan, a veterinarian in the community, pleaded guilty to the four charges in a plea bargain reached with the Crown. Seven other charges he was facing were dropped.
The charges stemmed from an incident at his house in September.
Krizan was credited the almost four months he spent in jail awaiting trial sentencing and has about one month left to serve.
