The Hay River Health and Social Services Authority is asking residents "to reconsider using our health services unless absolutely necessary" the week of Feb. 29 as the community's medical clinic moves to its new home.
The medical clinic will be closed Feb. 29 to March 4 and its telephone will be out of service.
During the closure, one doctor will be available Monday to Friday for non-urgent health care in the specialist clinic area at H.H. Williams Memorial Hospital.
Emergency services at H.H. Williams will be unaffected.
The medical clinic will reopen March 7 in the new regional health centre, with a new phone number: 874-8100.
The next services to be moved to the new health centre will be the rehabilitation department, midwifery offices and administration. The health authority says the switchover to the new hospital will take about three months, with the emergency department, laboratory and X-ray departments being the last to move.
