Google's home page marked the anniversary Monday of the coldest day ever recorded in Canada.

The temperature in Snag, Yukon, a village south of Beaver Creek, reached -63C on Feb. 3, 1947.

The weather station at Snag was maintained until 1966. The temperature today in Beaver Creek is -11C.

Temperatures in Yukon this winter are nowhere near Snag's record. Southern Yukon recently had a record-breaking warm spell in January.
