Gjoa Haven candidate Andrew Porter says he has withdrawn from the Nunavut territorial election race.
Porter says he has received a job offer as a full-time assistant operator with Qulliq Energy Corporation.
He says he has mixed emotions about leaving the race...
"That makes it even tougher because of all the supporters who were supporting me," he said.
"I just felt like I had a good chance, a good run for the MLA position."
Porter announced his decision on local radio Thursday afternoon.
It is too late to remove Porter's name from the ballot so it will still be there when voters go to the polls Oct. 28.
