First Air is changing its check-in cutoff time at airports in Ottawa, Montreal, Winnipeg and Edmonton.

Starting Monday, September 1, passengers must check in at least 45 minutes before their flight. If they don't, they can't get on the plane.

First Air says its check-in deadline in other locations such as Iqaluit and Yellowknife will remain at 30 minutes.

The airline recommends checking in at least one hour before the scheduled departure time.
