Yellowknife firefighters battled a blaze at a home on School Draw Avenue Wednesday afternoon.

An ambulance was at the scene on standby.

Neighbour Glen Abernethy says no one was in the house at the time of the fire.

The roof of the two-storey structure was on fire. Firefighters were staying out of the building due to concerns it was unstable.

Yellowknife's Director of Public Safety says firefighters are now sifting through the building, looking for hot spots, and if there were any pets inside.
